Kirk Development Company is a design/build full service remodeling company. The company can produce a full set of plans and specifications needed for most remodel projects or we can connect you with an outside architect that fits your style and needs. Our employees are experienced qualified people that can plan, estimate, and produce a top quality project. Company craftsmen attend to detail that ensures the quality you expect.
Kirk Development Company (KDC) is located in North Central Phoenix at 340 E. Caron Street. The firm occupies its own two-story office building with a warehouse and storage yard. KDC has been in business since 1978 and has all of the proper licensing plus general liability insurance with Cash, Sullivan & Cross Insurance Agency and workers' compensation insurance with the State Fund.
Over 70% of our sales are for residential remodel and renovation projects. The balance of work is commercial remodel and custom home building on contract sales. KDC’s largest source of business is repeat clients.
KDC is the only remodeler in Arizona that has employees that are certified by both the National Association of Home Builders (CGR) and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (CR).
KDC was named 2001 National Contractor of the Year in the kitchen remodel category at the National Association of Remodeling annual awards ceremony in Dallas, Texas.
KDC was named 2007 Contractor of the Year by both the National Association of the Remodeling Industry and NARI Arizona Chapter in bath, kitchen and additions.
KDC was named in 2008 as one of the Big 50 remodelors in the Country by Remodeling Magazine. This is the second time KDC has won this prestigious national award. The award was won in 1987 under George Kirk and in 2008 by Tom Sertich. It is rare that a company will win this award twice. KDC also won first place as Exterior Remodeler of the Year by Qualified Remodeler Magazine. George Kirk was named Remodeler of the Year in January 1991 by the National Association of Home Builders.
KDC remodel projects have been featured in various design, remodeling and special interest magazines. Kirk Development Company is listed on Qualified Remodelers Top 500 list the last few years. Kirk Development has been named as one of the 101 Best Companies to Work For in the residential construction industry by Professional Remodeler and Professional Builder magazines.
KDC is the only Remodeler in the Valley to have certified Aging-in-Place Specialists (CAPS). The Remodelors Council of the National Associaltion of Home Builders (NAHB) in collaboration with the NAHB Research Center, NAHB Seniors Housing Council, and the AARP created the CAPS program. Kirk Development Company is proud to have five of its employees with the CAPS certification. Kirk Devlopment is part of a select group of professionals nationwide to earn the (CAPS) designation, identifying them as one of the building industry’s top professionals with skills and knowledge specific to home modifications for aging-in-place. CAPS was developed to help home remodeling professionals meet the needs of the 77 million Baby Boomers that will reach retirement age in the first years of the 21st century. The CAPS designation identifies remodelers that have been trained to help retirees and older adults remain in their homes safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of income or ability level, and continue to live in a familiar environment throughout their maturing years.
